The Queen’s PHP

This is great….but I fear it’ll go over the heads of anybody who’s not a programmer.

<?php
    echo 'Hello World!';
?>
OR...
<?php
    announce 'Good morrow, fellow subjects of the Crown.';
?>

All this programmerly goodness and more can be found at If PHP were Brittish.

K-Hole

I don’t know what I’d think if I found a photo of myself or anybody I know on the K-Hole.

english no?

I have seen a few things on the internet in the last few months about how English sounds to non-english speakers.  This page has 10 great examples about how other cultures think English sounds.  This is really cool because a lot of these aren’t actually saying anything logical – just jibber jabber.  Very cool.

negotiation

Negotiation is one of those life skills that I have never been really good at.  Don’t get me wrong – I might get lucky now and again and stumble my way through a deal, but it’s definitely something I need to work on.  These are some great tips on how to hone this skill.  The ones that I need work on are “Never Speak First” and “Know when to Shut Up.”

How to Negotiate

with a little help

I have really been enjoying Cory Doctorow’s new book. I downloaded the podcast version through iTunes and there is definitely some meat to a lot of these stories. This self published book is full of 13 excellent short stories and in the podcast version – all are read by current podcasters, or other well-regarded geek-culture figures.  I recommend this.
